MISSING SNORKELER FOUND OFF OF THREE TABLES BEACH IN SUNSET

On November 11, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:23 p.m. for a missing snorkeler off of Three Tables Beach in Sunset and responded with 5 HFD units, staffed with 14 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:27 p.m., established command, and commenced with a search in the water.

It was reported that a 29-year-old male was snorkeling with some friends when he was caught in large surf and separated from his group. HFD, along with personnel from Honolulu Ocean Safety Department (OSD), continued the search from the air, land, and water. OSD personnel recovered the body of the missing snorkeler and brought him to shore where he was transferred to EMS personnel.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
