On November 14, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:21 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 939 Luehu Street in Pearl City with 9 units staffed with approximately 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:27 p.m. and found a working fire on the third floor of a three-story apartment building.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and initiated a primary search to confirm no occupants were in the fire unit. The fire was extinguished at 3:34 p.m. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist five displaced residents.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
