On November 15, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 5:20 a.m. and responded to a motor vehicle collision on the Farrington Highway in Nanakuli with six units staffed with 16 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 5:27 a.m. and reported an accident involving five vehicles, with one occupant trapped inside their vehicle.
HFD personnel established command, stabilized the vehicle, and used battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the occupant. Medical care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 5:50 a.m. HFD personnel secured the scene and transferred command to the Honolulu Police Department.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
