On November 19, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 4:09 p.m. for a lost hiker near the Nuuanu Reservoir in Nuuanu and responded with 5 units staffed with 13 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 4:16 p.m. and secured a landing zone for air operations.
It was reported that a hiker was making their way down Konahuanui Trail then became lost and unable to descend the trail on their own. HFD rescue personnel were inserted by Air 1 near the hiker’s location at 5:10 p.m. where they conducted a medical assessment to confirm there were no injuries. The hiker was safely transported via Air 1 to the landing zone at 5:14 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
