On November 22, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:55 a.m. and responded to a building fire near the intersection of Wilder Avenue and Pensacola Street with 6 units staffed with approximately 22 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:02 a.m. and found a working fire in the garage of an unoccupied single-story residential home.
Fire fighters initiated an aggressive fire attack while protecting surrounding exposures. Personnel secured a water supply and continued fire attack from the exterior. A search of the structure was completed and confirmed no occupants were inside the structure. The fire was brought under control at 2:05 a.m. and fully extinguished at 2:42 a.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
