RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN HONOLULU

On November 29, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:30 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 94-1056 Mahua Place in Waipio with 7 units staffed with 23 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:38 p.m. and found a small fire at a single-story residential home.

The homeowner utilized a garden hose to control the fire until HFD units arrived on scene. The fire was declared under control at 11:47 p.m. and fully extinguished at 12:30 a.m. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
