On November 30, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:38 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 85-153 Ala Walua Street in Waianae with 5 units staffed with 18 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 1:44 a.m. and found a working fire at a single-story residential home with smoke and flames emanating from the carport.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a primary and secondary search to confirm no occupants were inside the structure. The fire was brought under control at 1:59 a.m. and fully extinguished at 3:46 a.m. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete
