On December 3, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:29 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 1336 Dillingham Boulevard in Kalihi with 7 units staffed with 26 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 9:32 p.m. and found dark smoke coming from three vents at an automotive repair shop.
Fire fighters secured a water supply while attempting to gain access into the structure. Once access to the structure was made, fire fighters initiated an aggressive fire attack and completed a primary and secondary search to confirm no occupants were inside the structure.
The fire was fully extinguished at 9:58 p.m. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported. An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. The HFD will distribute an update after the investigation is completed.
