On December 21, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 2:46 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 41-668 Bell Street in Waimanalo with 6 units staffed with 22 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:57 a.m. to find a working fire at a small, abandoned, single-story residential home.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the structure. The fire was brought under control at 3:04 a.m. and fully extinguished at 4:28 a.m.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
