On January 19, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:57 a.m. to assist the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) with an extinguished vehicle fire and responded to 92-725 Palailai Street in Makakilo with one unit staffed with four personnel. The single unit arrived at the scene at 4:05 a.m. to find an extinguished vehicle fire.

Fire fighters used a thermal imaging camera to identify smoldering hot spots and cooled the interior of the vehicle down with water so the HPD could continue with its investigation.

The HPD requested the services of the HFD Fire Investigator to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
