BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KALIHI

On January 22, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:23 a.m. for a structure fire at 904 Winant Street in Kalihi and responded with 10 units staffed with 39 personnel. The first unit arrived at 12:28 a.m. to find a two-story single family home fully involved in fire.

The first arriving unit initiated an aggressive fire attack from the exterior. Subsequent arriving units were assigned to control the flames encroaching nearby homes. Searches were also conducted to ensure no one was inside any of the exposed structures. The fire was brought under control at 12:42 a.m. and extinguished at 12:58 a.m.

The American Red Cross is assisting five occupants who were displaced due to the fire. The HFD’s Fire Investigator was called to the scene to initiate an investigation to determine the origin and cause of the fire. Fire damage estimates are not available at this time.
