On January 28, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 5:56 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 1084 Puuwai Street with 7 units staffed with 23 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:06 p.m. to find a working fire in three outdoor storage containers.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control at 6:20 p.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 6:41 p.m.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
