On March 5, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 4:16 a.m. and responded to a residential building fire, at 54-259 B Kaipapau Loop, with 9 units staffed with 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 4:27 a.m. and found nothing showing initially. Upon further investigation they located a fire at the rear of a single-story residential home.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the structure. The fire was brought under control at 4:35 a.m. and extinguished at 4:51 a.m.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
