VEHICLE FIRE IN WAIPAHU EXTINGUISHED, CAUSE WAS INCENDIARY

On March 11, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:01 a.m. and responded to a vehicle fire near 94-896 Farrington Highway in Waipahu with two units staffed with approximately five personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 9:07 a.m. to find a trailer on fire.

Fire fighters commenced an aggressive fire attack and confirmed no occupants were inside the trailer. The fire was extinguished at 9:29 a.m. and all HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

The HFD Fire Investigator and Accelerant Detection Canine Team was dispatched to the scene and later classified the cause of the fire as incendiary. The fire originated inside the trailer where ignitable liquids were detected. The damage estimate is $10,000 in property loss.
