On March 17, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:35 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 86-354 Lualualei Homestead Road in Waianae with 13 units staffed with 44 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 9:40 a.m. to find a working fire at a single-story home.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the residence. The fire was brought under control at 9:59 a.m. and fully extinguished at 11:53 a.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported and the American Red Cross was notified in order to assist the displaced residents.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
