HONOLULU FIRE DEPARTMENT AND AIRPORT RESCUE FIRE FIGHTERS RESPOND TO AIRCRAFT CRASH NEAR WAIPIO

On March 27, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:00 p.m. and responded to an aircraft crash near the Royal Kunia Country Club, located at 94-1509 Anonui Street, with 14 units staffed with approximately 50 personnel. The first HFD unit arrived on scene at 12:08 p.m.

It was reported that a small Piper Cherokee aircraft landed in the bushes. Rescuers reported that the aircraft was not on fire and two male occupants, a 38-year-old and a 22 year-old, were able to get out on their own. The HFD assumed Command and airlifted both occupants to a landing zone via Air 1. Medical care was transferred to the Emergency Medical Services unit at 12:37 p.m. One patient refused treatment and the other was transferred in stable condition.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries. The incident was released to the Honolulu Police Department.
