On April 5, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:24 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 1125 Pua Lane in Kalihi with 9 units staffed with 36 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 7:29 a.m. to find a working fire on the 3rd floor of a residential apartment building.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the apartment unit where the fire originated. The fire was brought under control at 7:35 a.m. and fully extinguished at 7:36 a.m.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
