On April 23, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:56 p.m. and responded to a building fire near 369 North Vineyard Boulevard with 10 units staffed with 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 4:02 p.m. to find a grey and black smoke emanating from the two-story, multi-unit structure.
Fire fighters secured a water supply and commenced an aggressive fire attack, bringing the fire under control by 4:11 p.m. Once conditions inside were tenable, primary and secondary searches were completed, confirming that no occupants remained inside.
Two residents and a dog of the affected unit, were found safe outside the building upon HFD’s arrival. The fire was extinguished at 4:38 p.m. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the two displaced residents, and all HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
