On April 26, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:11 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 5579 Bennion Drive in Moanalua with 9 units staffed with 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:18 p.m. to find the garage of a two-story home fully involved in fire.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the residence. The fire was brought under control at 6:29 p.m. and extinguished at 6:35 p.m.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
