On April 30, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:59 p.m. and responded to an auto accident near Elm and Cedar Streets in Honolulu with 5 units staffed with 18 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 4:02 p.m. and reported a vehicle resting on its side with two occupants trapped in the vehicle.
HFD personnel stabilized the vehicle and used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the occupants then transferred medical care to Emergency Medical Services at 4:21 p.m. HFD personnel secured the scene and transferred command to the Honolulu Police Department.
