The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) is excited to announce two new data dashboards, the Incident Trend Dashboard and the Fire Response Search Tool, now available on its official website at www.fire.honolulu.gov/news-and-info/.
The Incident Trend Dashboard provides Oʻahu residents with a clear, visual overview of emergency incidents across the island. Organized by the 43 fire station’s administrative service areas, the dashboard features 5 years of data categorized by major incident types: fire, rescue, emergency medical, and hazardous materials. This tool provides the public with valuable insight into the frequency and nature of emergencies in their communities. With interactive maps, charts, and graphs, the dashboard transforms complex data into easy-to-understand visuals. Whether you are tracking an increase in nuisance fires, analyzing seasonal wildland fire trends, or reviewing medical and rescue call volumes by neighborhood, this resource makes vital information easily accessible.
The Fire Response Search Tool replaces the previous Response Mapping Tool, which is no longer supported and has been taken offline. This tool allows individuals and organizations the ability to search for specific emergency incidents and enhances transparency. It also provides the public with secure, convenient access to incidents in a user-friendly format.
These interactive tools were developed by the HFD’s Planning and Development division’s Strategic and Risk Management section and an intern from the City and County of Honolulu’s Poʻokela Fellows Internship Program. This partnership highlights the Department’s ongoing commitment to innovation, transparency, and informed community engagement.
This launch supports one of the HFD’s strategic goals and strengthens relationships with the Hawaiʻi Fire Fighters Association, first responder partners, government agencies and, most importantly, the public. By empowering residents to learn from past trends and gain a clearer understanding of their local emergency landscape, the HFD aims to boost emergency preparedness, community resilience, and proactive involvement in public safety. With future dashboards already in development, the Department continues to serve Oʻahu with integrity, clarity, and aloha.
