On June 17, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:55 p.m. and responded to a motor vehicle collision reported near Kamehameha Highway and Puhuli Street in Punaluꞌu with 6 units staffed with 16 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 9:02 p.m. to a two-vehicle collision with one vehicle resting on its roof. It was reported that one occupant self-extricated while four occupants were unable to exit the vehicle on their own.
HFD personnel stabilized the vehicle and used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate four occupants. Medical care was then transferred to Emergency Medical Services. HFD personnel secured the scene and transferred command to the Honolulu Police Department.
