and responded to a hiker who was lost off of the Poamoho Ridge Trail near Helemano Military Reservation with 4 units staffed with 15 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 5:10 p.m., established command and a landing zone for air operations.

It was reported that an uninjured female hiker was lost and unable to find her way back to the trail on her own. Air 1, along with HFD rescue personnel, were able to visually locate the missing hiker. Air 1 then inserted rescue personnel to the hiker’s location and conducted a medical assessment to confirm she was uninjured. The hiker was, then, safely airlifted to the nearby landing zone, at 5:50 p.m., where medical care was refused.
