On June 30, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:45 a.m. and responded to a fire at the Sheridan Community Park located at 833 Piikoi Street with one unit staffed with four personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 8:52 a.m. to find a working fire at the park’s playground.
Fire fighters initiated an aggressive fire attack to bring the fire under control at 8:55 a.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 8:56 a.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
The HFD Investigator classified the cause of the fire as incendiary. The HFD Accelerant Detection Canine produced multiple alerts for ignitable liquids. The damage estimate is between $85,000-150,000.
