On July 5, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:48 a.m. and responded to a fire at 1914 Homerule Street in Kalihi with 6 units staffed with 22 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:54 a.m. to find a two-story residential walk-up building involved with fire.
Fire fighters initiated an aggressive fire attack to extinguish a mattress fire at 4:00 a.m. An investigator was dispatched to the scene at 4:33 a.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
