On July 6, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:48 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 94-066 Leowaena Street in Waipahu with 10 units staffed with 35 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 1:53 p.m. to find a working fire at the rear of a single-story home and extending to a neighboring home.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the residence. The fire was brought under control at 2:14 p.m. and fully extinguished at 3:00 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
