CAUSE OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE IN WAIPAHU WAS ACCIDENTAL

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator has classified the cause of the fire that occurred on July 6, 2025 at 94-066 Leowaena Street in Waipahu as accidental. The fire was caused by fireworks igniting the exterior of the home after being set off at the rear of the property. The estimated damage is $500,000, which includes losses to the primary residence and one neighboring home.
