ELECTRIC SCOOTER FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KALIHI

On July 11, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:20 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 1516 Haka Drive in Kalihi with 6 units staffed with 22 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:25 p.m. to find a small, one-story, multi-unit residential building with light smoke from the exterior.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and, while initiating an aggressive fire attack, discovered an extinguished electric scooter fire. Nearby was a female with burns to her face and hair, experiencing difficulty breathing from smoke inhalation. Fire fighters provided basic life support treatment and transferred her medical care to the Emergency Medical Services at 6:35 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
