On July 19, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 10:11 a.m. and responded to a building fire reported at 1830 Wilikina Drive in Wahiawa with 12 units staffed with 43 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 10:18 a.m. and reported flames coming from a third-floor unit of an unsprinklered 10-story apartment building. Upon arrival, neighboring tenants attempted to control the fire with fire extinguishers but were unsuccessful.
HFD personnel proceeded to the third floor, to initiate an aggressive fire attack. Fire fighters evacuated the third and fourth floors apartments during fire operations and ensured the fire did not spread to neighboring units. The fire was brought under control at 10:38 a.m. and fully extinguished at 11:50 a.m.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
