On July 24, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 5:02 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 87-1621 Kanahale Road in Nanakuli with 9 units staffed with 25 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 5:14 a.m. to find a working fire involving a few portable structures.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the residence. The fire was brought under control at 5:33 a.m. and fully extinguished at 6:28 a.m.

One person needed medical attention and was transferred to Emergency Medical Services.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
