UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator has classified the cause of the fire that occurred on July 24, 2025 at 87-1621 Kanahale Road in Nanakuli as accidental. The fire originated in the crawl space under the structure and was caused by an operating portable generator igniting fuel vapors during refueling. The estimated damage is $258,000 to the structure and its contents.
