RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN EWA BEACH

On August 26, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:18 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 91-1364 Karayan Street in Ewa Beach with 10 units staffed with 35 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 12:25 a.m. and reported smoke showing from the second floor of a small, single-family two-story residence.

Fire fighters proceeded to the second floor to initiate an aggressive fire attack while other units secured a water supply. Primary and secondary searches were conducted to ensure all occupants had safely exited the structure. The fire was brought under control at 12:29 a.m. and extinguished at 12:38 a.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported. The Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced occupants.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
