BRUSH FIRE CONTAINED IN MOANALUA

On August 30, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:05 a.m. for a brush fire on the Ala Aolani Trail in Moanalua and initially responded with six units staffed with 16 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 11:20 a.m. A contractor worker witnessed a downed power line starting a small brush fire, the size was approximately about 100’ x100’. Air 1 transported ground assets to the area and proceeded to perform coordinated water drops in the affected areas.

The fire was contained and turned over to the Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) at 1:22 p.m. DOFAW will take control and monitor for any hotspots or flare ups.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
