On August 30, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 10:54 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 425 Ena Road in Waikiki with 10 units staffed with 35 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 10:59 p.m. and reported a mid-level apartment building with nothing showing. Building security reported flames on the penthouse level.
Fire fighters proceeded to the penthouse floor to initiate an aggressive fire attack while other units secured a water supply. Water was put on the fire at 11:06 p.m. and extinguished at 11:07 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported. There were two patients transferred to Emergency Medical Services.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
