HIKER RESCUED FROM DIAMOND HEAD CRATER TRAIL IN KAHALA

On September 29, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:29 a.m. and responded to a sick hiker on the Diamond Head Trail in Kahala with 6 units staffed with 17 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:37 a.m. and ascended the trail on foot. Other units secured a landing zone nearby to prepare for air operations.

It was reported that a 63-year-old female was hiking, became dizzy, suffered a fall and could not continue on her own. HFD personnel on foot arrived at her side at 11:54 a.m., performed a medical assessment, provided basic life support treatment, and prepared her for extraction. Air 1 transported the hiker to the nearby landing zone, where medical care was transferred to the Emergency Medical Services at 12:18 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injury.
