On September 3, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:43 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 85-0658 Kauiokalani Place in Waianae with 9 units staffed with 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 7:46 p.m. and reported a two-story townhome with smoke emanating from the rear of the second floor.

Fire fighters proceeded to the second floor to initiate an aggressive fire attack while other units simultaneously secured a water supply. Within three minutes of arrival at 7:49 p.m. and, fire fighters had water on fire. The fire was declared fully extinguished at 8:39 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
