On September 15, 2025 the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:04 p.m. and responded to an injured hiker at the Peacock Flatts Trail in Waialua with 7 units staffed with 19 personnel. The first unit arrived at 7:27 p.m.
It was reported that a male in his 30s fell approximately 30 feet and was unable to return to the trailhead on his own. Air 1 inserted a rescue person to the hiker’s location at 8:02 p.m., where he conducted a medical assessment and provided basic life support. The hiker was safely airlifted to the nearby landing zone where medical care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 8:36 p.m.
HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
