On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:22 a.m. for a sight of smoke reported at 794 Lehua Avenue in Pearl City and initially responded with three units staffed with nine personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 1:32 a.m. and immediately began extinguishment efforts on a large pile of metal on fire. Additional resources were requested and a total of nine units, staffed with 28 personnel, responded to this fire.
The fire was brought under control at 3:13 a.m. Heavy equipment was utilized to expose hot spots and assist firefighters conducting overhaul tactics to search for hidden fires and prevent rekindling. The fire was extinguished at 6:45 a.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
