COMMERCIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KAPOLEI

On October 8, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 10:55 a.m. and responded to an activated fire alarm at 91-174 Hanua Street in Kapolei with one unit staffed with four personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:04 a.m. to find smoke visible at a large commercial building and upgraded the incident to a building fire, requesting additional resources.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated an offensive fire attack on a small fire on the conveyor belt that moves rubbish from one area to another. The fire was brought under control at 12:21 p.m. and fully extinguished at 1:22 p.m. A total of seven units staffed with approximately 23 personnel responded to the incident.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
