On October 12, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:22 p.m. for a building fire at 3343 Smith Circle in the Hale Moku military housing community near the Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam area and responded with 6 units staffed with 22 personnel. The first unit arrived at 9:28 p.m. to find light smoke coming from a small, residential duplex home.
Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated an aggressive fire attack with handlines, resulting in getting water on the fire at 9:31 p.m. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished at 9:47 p.m. All searches for occupants in the structure confirmed that no one was inside. Overhaul techniques were performed to remove and extinguish smoldering materials while looking for hidden fires in void spaces to ensure the fire did not extend into other areas of the home.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
