On November 9, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:00 p.m. for a building fire at 138 South Kamehameha Highway in Wahiawa and responded with 11 units staffed with 39 personnel. The first unit arrived at 3:04 p.m. to find occupants actively evacuating and smoke coming from the roof of a single-story structure that serves as the L & L Drive Inn restaurant.
Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated an aggressive offensive fire attack. The fire was brought under control at 3:18 p.m. and extinguished at 3:29 p.m. All searches for occupants in the structure confirmed that no one was inside. Overhaul techniques were performed to extinguish smoldering materials while searching for hidden fires in void spaces to ensure the fire did not spread to other areas of the building.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
