On November 26, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:24p.m. for a building fire at 85-1284 Kumaipo Street in Waianae and responded with 10 units staffed with 42 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:34 p.m. to find smoke coming from the back of a single-story residential structure.
Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated an offensive fire attack. The fire was brought under control at 6:38 p.m. and fully extinguished at 7:01 p.m. Fire fighters conducted searches of the unit to ensure no one was inside at the time of the fire.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
