HIKER RESCUED ON WAILUPE GULCH TRAIL IN AINA HAINA

On November 30, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:32 a.m. and responded to an injured hiker on the Wailupe Gulch Trail in Aina Haina with 6 units staffed with 18 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:41 a.m., established command and ascended the trail on foot. The second-arriving unit secured a nearby landing zone to prepare for air operations.

It was reported that a male hiker in his 80s suffered a 10-foot fall and was unable to descend the trail on his own. HFD personnel arrived at the hiker’s location where they conducted a medical assessment and provided basic life support. Air 1 then safely airlifted the hiker to the landing zone where medical care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 12:43 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
