On December 18, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:23 p.m. and responded to a building fire near 94-863 Lumikuke Loop in Waipio with 10 units staffed with 35 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 7:27 p.m. to find a working fire in a single-family residence.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the residence. The fire was declared under control at 7:51 p.m. and fully extinguished at 9:15 p.m.
The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced occupant of the home. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
