UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Fire Investigator has classified the cause of the fire that occurred on December 22, 2025, at 1507 S. King Street in Honolulu, as accidental. The fire originated in the living room and was caused by a runaway chemical reaction of a lithium-ion battery for a portable speaker. The damage estimate is $905,000 to the structure and its contents.
