RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KANEOHE

On December 30, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 2:00 a.m. and responded to a building fire reported at 45-517 Waikalua Place in Kaheohe with 9 units staffed with 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:06 a.m. to find a two-story, single-family home fully involved in fire.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated a defensive fire attack and protected surrounding homes. All occupants were able to evacuate their homes safely. Flames spread to two nearby homes, which was brought under control at 2:20 a.m. The main structure was brought under control at 2:35 a.m. and extinguished at 4:44 a.m.

The American Red Cross was notified to assist two displaced occupants. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
