RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN EWA BEACH

On December 31, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:58 p.m. for a building fire at 91-1479 Maipuhi Street in Ewa Beach and responded with 10 units staffed with 35 personnel. The first unit arrived at 7:05 p.m. to find smoke coming from the garage of a small single-story residential home.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the residence. The fire was declared fully extinguished at 7:31 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
