BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN NUUANU

On January 8, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:07 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 1615 Kapua Lane in Nuuanu with 10 units staffed with 39 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 8:13 a.m. to find smoke and flames showing from a second floor unit of a two-story multi-family building.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the residence. The fire was declared fully extinguished at 8:31 a.m.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
