On January 18, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:32 p.m. for a building fire at 94-435 Lanikuhana Place in Mililani and responded with 8 units staffed with 24 personnel. The first unit arrived at 1:37 p.m. to find light smoke emanating from a medium-sized, single-story residential building.
Since no one was home, fire fighters used forcible entry techniques to gain access to the home while simultaneously securing a water supply and initiating an aggressive fire attack. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished at 2:26 p.m. All searches for occupants in the structure confirmed that no one was inside. Overhaul techniques were performed to remove and extinguish smoldering materials while looking for hidden fires in void spaces to ensure the fire did not extend into other areas of the home.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
