On January 21, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:47 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 4747 Kilauea Avenue in Kahala with 9 units staffed with 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 9:53 p.m. to find light smoke showing from a first floor unit of a commercial building.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the initial fire unit. The fire was declared under control at 10:15 p.m. and fully extinguished at 11:05 p.m.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
